There are so many different types of moms out there – mamas with kids, mamas without mamas, single mamas, women trying to become mamas, mamas with angel babies, surrogate mamas, fur baby mamas, and so many more!
This can be a day of joy and special time spent with family or an unsettling reminder of the heartache of a hurtful memory or a hole in our hearts remembering a mama. I send love and empathy to everyone on this holiday, no matter your circumstance.
This Mother’s Day, I am forever grateful that I get to spend it with my son and my sweet mom. My mama is the queen of my heart and I’d like to think I’m the queen of my son’s heart too! Our ideal Mother’s Day would go something like this..
– Wake up & make lemon ricotta pancakes, which are my mom’s favorite, while my son makes the eggs and then we all enjoy it together with mimosas in hand!
– My son and I would then head to the local movie theater to see the latest Marvel movie with a bucket of popcorn! And don’t tell anyone, but sometimes my son will still hold my hand in the movies (shhhhh!).
– As for my mama, she has a natural green thumb, so walking around the arboretum, local botanical garden, or even our local nursery is our favorite way to enjoy quality time together. While I don’t have her Mother Nature abilities, I do, however, love to create floral arrangements and decorate the house with spring and floral touches.
How would your perfect Mother’s Day go?
Sending you all love on this very special day.
Happy Mother’s Day!
